Today is an important holiday here in Brazil. We celebrate the ‘Dia da Proclamação da República’ (something like, Proclamation of Republic Day) . In 1889, the Brazilian Emperor, Dom Pedro II was kicked out deposed by Field Marshal Deodoro da Fonseca... or something like that... and Brazil became a Republic. (Read More Here)
