Saudade

I've intended to submit it to 'Just Part of life Project: Biding Farewell.
I was sure that the deadline was March 31st. I was wrong. It was March22 :(

The word Saudade is a word that only exists(sp?) in the Portuguese language.

In general terms, Saudade is a word for a feeling of nostalgic longing for something or someone that one was fond of and which is lost. It often carries a fatalist tone and a repressed knowledge that the object of longing might really never return.

Saudade differs from nostalgia in that whereas nostalgia involves a mixed happy and sad feeling for the lost memories, saudade involves the hope that what is being longed for might return.
(...) A stronger form of saudade may be felt towards people and things whose whereabouts are unknown, such as a lost lover, or a family member who has gone missing.

Saudade was once described as "the love that remains" or "the love that stays" after someone is gone. Saudade is the recollection of feelings, experiences, places or events that once brought excitment, pleasure, well-being, which now triggers the senses and makes one live again.

IF: Legendary Love (Robin and Marian, WIP)

This is for Illustration Friday. The prompt was *legendary* so, here it is Robin Hood and Maid Marian. More than legendary characters I belive they also lived/represented a legendary love. At first I thought about Guinevere and Arthur. However, I dont think Guinevere truly loved (as woman) Arthur.
This drawing is still on *sketch* phase as you can notice but I wanted to post it before the next Friday...
So, yeah, it's a WIP. But evenway, I think I liked it so far. :)
